“Empty Crowd”

ABOUT THE PIECE:
Inspired by Andy Warhol this 4-color piece is made from the original image in grey. It is an electron microscopic image showing a sophisticated process of mitochondrial damage caused by a therapeutic drug. The circles are a result of mitochondrial proliferation to compensate for the damaged mitochondria. Unfortunately, the newly formed mitochondria are also damaged, symbolizing ineffective crowd. It’s not quantity that matters, it’s the quality.
